High Tea has been a staple at Broadview Residential Care Center for many years. It is not only an event that is enjoyed by all but it is also a delightful experience for our assisted living residents to put together. Our lady residents love preparing for this event, gathering some cut fresh flowers from the gardens and making beautiful flower arrangements for every table, others put their kitchen expertise to use by preparing tea sandwiches, baking delicious cupcakes and making beautiful fruit platters. It always amazes me to see how many new memories are made during these times; new friendships are formed and together they reminisce about good times.

Our tables are always beautifully decorated with a great attention to details, from the crisp freshly ironed tablecloths and fresh rose petals on the tables to the beautiful Mary Jane Bennet Tea Set Collection China.  Ms. Paula Finley our Activity Director and our resident volunteer committee make this event unforgettable and one that you don’t want to miss. Meghan Markle the Duchess of Sussex loved that her grandmother Mrs. Doris Markle attended these charming gatherings.

The Mary Jane Bennet Tea Collection is a collection of tea sets that was acquired by our onetime resident Ms. Mary Bennet and which she donated to the Broadview’s senior living residents to continue to enjoy our tradition of High Tea in the Garden.
